1.1 Location Data (GPS)

We collect your device's GPS coordinates to provide accurate prayer times based on your location, determine the Qibla direction, and help you find nearby mosques. Your location data is processed locally on your device for prayer time calculations and is sent to our servers only when you use the mosque finder feature.

1.2 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

Name
Email address
WhatsApp phone number (optional, for notification preferences)

1.3 User-Generated Content

We collect information you voluntarily submit, such as mosque submissions, photos, votes, and community contributions.

1.4 Microphone / Audio Data

The Quran Recitation Practice and Academy features optionally use your device's microphone to record your recitation audio. This audio is:

Processed by our AI server (hosted on HuggingFace) solely to score your recitation accuracy
Not stored permanently — the audio file is deleted from our servers immediately after scoring
Never shared with third parties or used for any purpose other than recitation analysis

You can use all other app features without granting microphone access.

1.5 Usage Data

We may collect anonymous usage statistics such as which features are used, app version, and device type to improve the app experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

Calculate and display accurate prayer times for your location
Show nearby mosques and provide directions
Determine the Qibla direction from your current position
Send prayer time reminders and azaan notifications
Send WhatsApp notifications about prayer times and Islamic events (with your explicit consent)
Enable community features such as mosque submissions, voting, and event listings
Process donation records
Improve app functionality and fix issues

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to any third parties. Your information is shared only in the following circumstances:

WhatsApp Messaging: If you opt in to WhatsApp notifications, your phone number is used to send messages through the WhatsApp Business API.
Community Contributions: Mosque submissions and public content you create may be visible to other users of the app.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

4. WhatsApp Messaging Consent

WhatsApp notifications are entirely optional. By providing your WhatsApp number and enabling notifications in the app, you consent to receive messages about prayer times, Islamic events, and community announcements. You can opt out at any time by updating your notification preferences in the app settings or by contacting us.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the services you have requested. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed from our systems within 30 days.

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
Delete your account and all associated personal data
Opt out of WhatsApp notifications at any time
Withdraw consent for location data collection by disabling location permissions on your device

8. Delete Your Account

To request deletion of your Iqamah account and all associated personal data:

Open the Iqamah app → Settings → My Profile → scroll down → tap "Delete Account"
Or email us at isfaaq@msn.com with the subject "Delete My Account" and include your registered email address

Upon receiving your request, we will:

Delete your account, profile data, and authentication tokens
Remove your mosque admin permissions (if any)
Delete your prayer logs, fasting logs, sadaqah logs, and Quran progress from our server
Remove your device registration

Data deletion is completed within 30 days of your request. Anonymous submissions (mosque corrections, Janazah posts) that were already approved may remain as community data without personal attribution.

9. Children's Privacy

Our app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
